Dish Restaurant

We had a good experience at dish after a visit to Descanso Gardens. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was good enough. It's a large restaurant, so even though it was packed and Mother's Day, we were seated fairly quickly without a reservation. The coffee was good enough could've been a little bit stronger. (Full disclosure I need to super strong coffee to live.) My kid wasn't that friendly and just had fries what she thought were good enough. I had the Florentine Quiche (though our server miss heard me initially and brought Florentine Benedict to start. That was quickly replaced with what I had asked for) the quiche was perfectly prepared. Nice and fluffy key should be. Potatoes on the side. Could've used a little bit more seasoning did the job the potatoes are supposed to do. My wife had a Florentine Benedict without the English muffin as she is gluten-free. She thought it was good, but would've appreciated more gluten-free bread options. You can see the local appeal of a restaurant like this with lots of breakfast options, I mean stay when you want classic foods. If we lived in La Canada, I'm sure we'd be there often enough.

We sat in the bar area on tables located there. It was a nice comfortable booth. Lots to choose from on the menu. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and stream carrots. The mash potatoes were delicious and so was the meat loaf. It was a nice hearty portion. The carrots were also well cooked and flavorful. They weren't overcooked. My cousin had the fish and chips. Came with 3 nice size pieces of fish and great sauce. Great portion of french fries that were nice and crispy. The service was great and the food was excellent. We will be coming back to try breakfast next time. Would give it 4 1/2 stars...

The Dish is a wonderful place for any meal. With active toasters on the booth tables it reminds one to order a many bread items as possible when ‘Dish-ing’ for breakfast. I recommend the Chicken Piccata but substitute the mashed potatoes with linguini or the excellent Patty Melt sandwich served with humungous onion rings. The Salmon Wrap is also very amazing as it is perfect if one doesn't want to feel stuffed after eating and when paired either with a salad or sliced tomatoes its a perfect balance for one to 'feel healthier' The Green Garden salad that can be chopped upon request is a phenomenal and more healthy option and paired perfectly with an ice tea for lunch.

Came here for lunch with my best friends and my mom. They have daily and weekly specials which makes it all the more fun so we have new choices as well as their large regular menu. This time I got a cheeseburger! It was very good and for a side i chose fruit. I will show photos of all the food we ordered. We felt so loved and taken care of by the wonderful staff. It was very noisy but we survived.

Our server was a delightful young lady who was friendly and very accommodating. She added to the ambiance of the restaurant. Our meals were served promptly and the food was delicious. It's great to have Dish in our neighborhood. Everyone can find something they like on the menu.

First off, I can’t breathe because I ate so much. lol My server was Brooklyn (hope I spelled that right) but she was absolutely amazing. I was debating on a burger or a stack of pancakes with eggs bacon and hash browns and she told me to go with the pancakes. I’m so glad she suggested it bc these are by far the best pancakes in La Canada and the Foothills. Super soft, fluffy, huge, and delicious. Hash browns and bacon was great as well. They serve brunch every day til 2pm. Brooklyn is the absolute best.

Brooklyn was an exceptional server. Her charisma and efficiency made me love Dish. I had an apple salad with chicken and a mango cheesecake. Both dishes were excellent. The chicken was perfectly grilled and they actually substituted the grill style for me because I don’t like spicy food. The mango cheesecake has a subtle mango flavor and has a great consistency. The wedge salad here is also great! My friend had some and he loved it. The prices are good here. My apple chicken salad was $21 and they serve a lot of chicken. The wedge was $15. The staff here works as a team. Sara helped Brooklyn and she was great too! The ambiance is friendly and warm. It’s a mom and pop business so come support them. This restaurant actually has a bar. They have a big parking lot too. Please note I haven’t written a review since about 2025 as ggoogle truly frustrates me to put it nicely. I wrote this interview because this business is mom and pop! Support mom and pop businesses!

This place feels like a best friend. It reminded me of the BEST Sunday night dinner from my childhood. The shrimp and chicken gumbo was so good that my husband kept trying to eat it. And he's allergic to shrimp! I wouldn't change a thing. It's our new favorite after-camping indulgence.
